Ultimately, the driving system has become the main theme of mobile robot applications due to its advantages such as simple structure of driving wheels and driven wheels, fast movement speed, smooth operation, and low cost. The rationality of AGV's gear train layout is crucial for the stability and reliability of project operation based on different application scenarios, operating ground conditions, and control requirements.
1. Single rudder type
Single wheel type AGVs are mostly three wheel models (some AGVs may install multiple driven wheels for greater stability, but the steering drive device is only one steering wheel), mainly relying on a hinged steering wheel at the front of the AGV as the driving wheel, paired with the last two driven wheels, controlled by the front wheel to turn. The advantages of single wheel steering drive are simple structure and low cost. As it is a single wheel drive, there is no need to consider motor coordination issues. Due to the good grip of the three wheel structure and general requirements for the ground surface, it is suitable for a wide range of environments and occasions. The disadvantage is poor flexibility, there is a turning radius in steering, and the actions that can be achieved are relatively simple. Applicable AGV types: traction AGV, forklift AGV.

2. Double rudder type
The dual steering wheel type AGV is an omnidirectional AGV, with one steering wheel installed at the front and rear of the vehicle, paired with driven wheels on both sides, and controlled by the front and rear steering wheels. The advantage of dual steering wheel drive is that it can achieve 360 ° rotation function and universal lateral movement, with high flexibility and precise operating accuracy.
Applicable AGV type: heavy-duty latent AGV or parking robot.


3. Multi steering wheel type
The multi wheel AGV is an omnidirectional AGV, with four, six, or eight wheels installed on the chassis. The advantages of multi wheel steering drive are its ability to carry and pull large loads, achieve 360 ° rotation function, and also achieve universal lateral movement. It can also perform single point winding, with high flexibility and precise operating accuracy.
Applicable AGV types: heavy-duty Flatbed trolley, heavy-duty AGV.
