The product innovation of future robots mainly lies in three aspects: industrial robots, service robots and special robots. Among them, in industrial robots, we will focus on vacuum (clean) robots such as automatic handling, intelligent movement and storage for the semiconductor industry, as well as mobile operating robots such as heavy-load, light-weight, flexible, dual-arm, mobile and flexible operation ability in 3C, auto parts and other fields.
As early as more than forty years ago, an "automatic guided vehicle" was born in the factory to automatically carry the products. It mainly adopts magnetic navigation, which is the first generation navigation technology. It can be said that this is the initial stage of industrial logistics.
With the development and transformation of navigation and positioning technology, the second generation navigation technology marked by two-dimensional code navigation was born, and Amazon KIVA logistics robot first applied two-dimensional code navigation, which led a group of smart warehouse robots of domestic e-commerce enterprises to adopt two-dimensional code navigation one after another.
Since then, lidar navigation and visual navigation have appeared. As far as the industry is concerned, the first two can be classified as AGV, while the latter two are also called natural navigation mobile robots and can be classified as AMR. AMR realizes autonomous movement and accurate obstacle avoidance through built-in map, external lidar and visual camera under the control of navigation algorithm. Compared with AGV, AMR is characterized by no fixed navigation path and more flexible dynamic planning.
But the advantages of AMR, on the other hand, are also disadvantages. Firstly, in terms of technical issues, the change of environmental characteristics will affect the navigation accuracy and path of AMR. And because of its high flexibility, it puts forward higher requirements for the algorithm and system optimization of large-scale scheduling application. In addition, whether AMR or AGV, its core technology is moving, but the real landing in the factory also involves the transfer and handling of materials, and there are problems in the storage of different equipment in different scenes, so it is often customized.
In particular, it involves the edge warehouse whose boundary can only touch the production line, or it needs manpower to carry out the "last meter" material filling.
In order to solve the "last meter", the compound mobile robot came into being. The compound mobile robot body is mainly composed of three parts: mobile chassis, mechanical arm and end effector. It is essentially a "platform". This means that the compound mobile robot has both the function of moving and material moving, and it is the optimal solution to solve the "last meter" at present. In addition to single-machine collaboration, multi-machine collaboration allows the composite mobile robot to adapt to different scenarios and large-scale applications.
